Conditions for Renting a Car in Sardinia

All base rates include:

• Unlimited mileage
• Third party insurance (Maximum cover 10.400.000,00)
• Damage coverage with partial responsability
• Theft/fire coverage with partial responsability
• Airport charges
• Taxes and VAT 22%

Base Rates do not include:

• Fuel
• Refuelling service
• Supercasco supplement for the elimination of liability in case of damages
• Supertheft supplement for the elimination of liability for theft, fire,crystals
• Fines and violations of the road traffic rules and the associated management costs

At the time of the car pick up it is requested:

a) The advance payment of the total amount of the rental cost (if not pre paid) by credit card of the following circuits: Bankamericard, Visa, Mastercard, by debit card or by cash.

b) A cautionary deposit as a guarantee of the partial liability for dameges, theft, fire. The amount of the deposit depends on the car category and it is defined by the tables below. It could be made by traditional credit card of the following circuits: Visa and Mastercard. By using the Credit Card (whose holder must be phisically present at the time of the car pick up with a valid identity document), a guarantee equal to the amount of the deposit will be requested and locked to the Credit Card Circuit, which will constrain it untill the end of the rental period. This procedure provides an administrative fee of euro 0,01.

The supplements Supercasco and Supertheft (see par.11) eliminate the responsability for damages/theft/fire/crystals.

In the event of using a debit card for the release of the security deposit, it will be charged at the beginning of the rental and refunded by bank transfer within 10 days by the end of the rental. This procedure has an administrative cost of euro 2,50 for EU Countries, debited at the beginning of the rental. In case of bank transfer outside EU the amount of the administrative cost could vary and will be at the Customer’s expense.

The supplement Minicasco (see par.11) limits the responsability for damages/theft/fire. In this case the amount of the deposit is defined by the tables below:

In some periods of the year an advanced payment of the total amount of the rental or of 50% of the total amount of the rental could be requested in order to complete the reservation, by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

Cancellation of booking is free, with the refund of the advance, within 48 hours prior the rental for categories B – C – V- T; for categories A/D/E/F/G/H/I/L/M/N/O/P/Q/J/W within 72 hours prior the rental. After that, the cancellation penalty will be 50% of the advance untill 24 hours prior the rental. After this term, the advance will not be refunded.

All rates of Sardinya include 22% VAT (unless otherwise stated)

The conditions for renting the car are the following:

*From 21 to 23 years old It is possible to rent only categories B and C including the Young driver supplement at the extra cost of euro 15,00 per day.

PLEASE NOTE: for holders of a driving license issued by a country outside the European Union or a license issued in a non-Latin alphabet (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Cyrillic) the Italian road code requires an International Driving Permit, to show in original at the time of the car pick up, together with the normal national driving license. Digital driving licenses are not accepted. Without these documents it will not be possible to rent the car and there will be no refund.

Maximum age for rental of all cars and motorcycles 80 years old.

All the vehicles will be provided with a full fuel tank. If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, the cost of fuel and the refuelling service (Euro 10,00, taxes included), will be at the renter’s expense.

For each additional driver there is an extra charge of Euro 7,00 per day (VAT included). The valid driving licence of the additional driver has to be provided in original to the Sardinya office

The cost of the One-Way service (car return to a different station respect to the delivery one) is euro 150,00 (VAT included).

Sardinya base rates involve a responsability of the driver for damages, theft and fire. The amount of the responsability corresponds to a cautionary deposit, that depends to the car category and it is defined by the following table:

Supplements Supercasco and Supertheft eliminate the responsability for damages, theft, fire, crystals:

Please note that the Supercasco, Supertheft and Minicasco coverages are valid only if the damage event is not attributable to malicious, misuse of the car (evidence and/or sports competitions), gross customer negligence or non-compliance with the rules of the road code.

The supplements Supercasco, Supertheft and Minicasco are not appliable for drivers older than 80 years old and for motorbikes 750/800cc and minivan 9 seats ( group L).

In any case, damages to the following parties are excluded from the Supercasco and Supertheft coverages:

a) roof and opening cap, b) interior and upholstery, c) under-door and under-carriage (muffler, oil cup, fuel tank), d) tyres, e) all vehicle accessories (car keys, license plates, triangle, safety kit, high visibility vest).

All vehicles have to be returned on the established day and time. It is accepted a delay of up to one hour respect to the pick up time, after which an extra day will be charged.

For some of Sardinya’s agencies it is possible to pick up/return the car to places different from the office, paying an extra charge depending on the distance. It has to be agreed at the moment of the booking.

Cost of the car delivery/return out of the opening time of the airport offices:

Euro 40,00 from 23:00 to 23:59 and from 7:00 AM to 07:59 AM.

Euro 90,00 from 00:00 to 1:00 AM to be agreed with the booking office.

The collection of the car after 01:00 must be agreed with the booking office.

In the event of the loss/breackage of car’s key, there will be an extra charge of Euro 300,00 . In the event of the loss/breackage of car’s documents (or number plate), there will be an extra charge of Euro 300,00 .

The cost of the car washing is euro 54,00 and it is debited to the renter if the car is returned in bad conditions or if an extraordinary washing is necessary.

All the on-line reservations, made through the website www.autonoleggiosardinya.it must be reconfirmed by the reservation centre.

is not possible to use and take the car outside Sardinia. Not having any extra-regional agency, it would not be possible to provide any kind of assistance in case of any problems.

For holders of a driving license issued by a State not belonging to the European Union, it is necessary to show, valid and in original when collecting the car, together with the national driving license: the International Driving License, International Driving Permit or the Sworn Translation of the driving license. Without these documents it will not be possible to rent the car and no refund will be provided. Digital driving licenses are not accepted.
